I need to have the University OneDrive synced in my computer so that I can work offline and automatically syncs back to OneDrive when my tablet is back online again.

If you have files stored in your OneDrive, you'll be able to access them easily with Windows 8. The OneDrive Desktop app is now installed on your computer. Once the file is downloaded, open it and follow the instructions to install OneDrive. The file is copied, so it remains also on your PC.
